Sunday Morning Grumble

And so, Mortals, the 140th Belmont Stakes has ended with yet another expletive deleted horse failing to live up to the blarsted hype with which we, the media-obsessed masses have inflicted upon a jaded, money-loving, oversexed public --- in other words, dearests, we're talking tales told by idiots, full of sound bytes and fury, signifying nothing.

Don't get your humble Dragonmaster wrong, but I tend to grumble at what I often perceive to be the wrong thing. Many times throughout the course of History, for many reasons, the struggle to determine right from wrong has begun and ended on a simple first step. The problem is simply that almost 80% of the time, that first step has turned out to be the wrong one. And I've lived through too many adventures not to have forgotten this utter truth.

Why, then, do I grumble about it here in the Diary of Magecraft? Someone has to observe and re-discover what Life actually means without needlessly muttering natterish stuff --- and lately, that's all I have been doing lately. With Debbie D still on the road until at least the time of the 2008 Coney Island Mermaid Parade, and Robert Smigel cooling his own jets after helping out on Sandler's You Don't Mess with the Zohan thing, this foolish old Mage is now left to his own devices, blarst it all! And, as usual, it'll be a wonder whether I managed to survive at all. Nonetheless, a big sandwich is in my immediate future --- though it may not necessarily be pastrami.

Master Blackwolf
