Random weekend thoughts on a foggy Friday (or is it all that foggy?)
Well, Mortals, in a few days, as King Boreas posted here a while back, your humble Dragonmaster will go one-on-one with Santa Claus --- in a rare, world exclusive interview. I am quite looking forward to it. I find it horrible, though, that New York's Unofficial Wizard (that's me, of course!) and the Jolly Old Elf can't get together and greet our fans in person; I frankly would have liked that most of all.
What disappoints me, however, is the fact that I'm constantly having to rely on the web if I'm going to get any photographs and/or real Santa Claus stories. My point, you see, is that there used to be a time when ye Byg Appyl's four major newspapers --- the Daily News, the Post, the Times and Newsday --- religiously spent November and December sending their writers and photographers out into the City in search of the best pictures of Santa they could muster. Indeed, I don't yet even know whether or not the Record of Bergen County, New Jersey still goes out to seek out their Best Mall Santa each year! If not, a long-standing tradition has been lost! Blarst!
But I would suppose it's too much to expect from an old goat like me to want the City's finest papers to renew their faith in Santa Claus. Maybe, we've lost that sense of jolliness, for all I know. Well, I want that sense of jolliness back --- and your humble Dragonmaster will do whatever it takes to get it!
Hast thou a problem wi' that, Milord?
As ever, I wanna know what you think, America. Gimme an e-mail at either electric_pirates@hotmail.com or blackbeardian@yahoo.com.
