Santa Claus FINALLY Guest-Blogs, For a Change!

This being Christmas Eve, and having been previously interviewed here in this Diary of Magecraft, it should only be proper and fitting that Santa Claus himself should guest blog here. When you're New York's Unofficial Wizard, there's no obstacle you can't accomplish. But the Distinguished Mr. Kringle has a few words he'd like to share regarding Christmas Eve, life at the North Pole, and everything else in general.

But enough introduction. Ladies and gentlemen, Santa Claus!

Greetings, dear friends, fellow Believers and other assorted Beings! Merry Christmas to all!

Christmas Eve 2008, and already the party atmosphere is surrounding New York City and all the world. Let's face it, when you work only one night a year the way I do, chances are, you've got a lot of adventure, wonder and all else that is good-guy related to celebrate! This being the world of New York City's Unofficial Wizard, Blackwolf the Dragonmaster, things are especially bonkers! But what makes it all worthwhile? Flying over Manhattan and getting my first view of Lady Liberty. She is, after all, the world's favorite green gal. But hey, better green than mean, I always say.

And upstairs at the Pole, the Elves and Mrs. C continue working behind the scenes to keep my magic going despite the fact that the world is behaving rather weird of late. (Hey, even Santa has to literally keep up with the New York Times, if you know what I mean.)

Meanwhile, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a really awesome Kringle named Kip Lackey has won, for the third year running, the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel's 5th Annual Philip A. Steigerwald Santa's Helper Award. Luckily, the News-Sentinel folks have decided to have him not do it again in 2009; I mean, c'mon, Allen County has more deserving Santas out there, too, y'know!

Of course, the really BIG news has do to with what I'll be up to next year. On March 16th, 17th and 18h, 2009, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, the Inaugural Celebrate Santa Convention and Holly & Shamrock St. Patrick's Day Parade will without question be a media event to rival Copenhagen, Denmark's renowned World Santa Claus Congress! Centerpiece of the three-day shinding at Gatlinburg will be the Official Administration of the Santa Claus Oath, conceived and written by veteran Chicago Claus Philip L. Wenz, who will gather all those attending to stand before the Great Santa Claus Oath Book and promise to uphold the Eight Principles which the Oath represents. By the North Star's glow, it's gonna be beautiful!

Well, I think I've talked enough for now, fans! The Ancient One, my long, long-bearded boss --- yes, the very same Ancient Elf from Santa Claus: The Movie --- will want to speak with me shortly, and then I have to start getting busy preparing to make final coordinations ready with my pals in Colorado Springs, doing CNN's Larry King Live, and whatnot. So kids, dream good dreams and think good thoughts, and I shall indeed deliver your presents tonight --- just as you all expect of me! Yeah, and that means YOU, too, Big Apple!

And, as always, remember: no peeking!

Ho-ho-ho! Merry Christmas to all!

Forever and always,

Santa
