Why (almost) nobody likes a drenched Dragonmaster....
Well, dearests, the Harvey Phillips Foundation has done it again! Their 36th Annual TubaChristmas Performance, staged beneath the shaadow of Rockefeller Center's Christmas Tree, was the insanest, wettest 30 or so minutes ever spent in that hallowed venue; one had to be equally bizarre to witness the whole thing wearing a full-dress Santa suit!
But, I imagine the results will be posted on YouTube; I'll probably have a look there later.
To those of you who had TubaChristmas events in these cities --- Denver, CO; Porterdale, GA; Honolulu, HI; Evansville, IN; Worcester, MA; Coldwater, Houghton and Grand Rapids, MI; St. Paul/Minneapolis, MN; Rolla, MO; Omaha and Scotts Bluff, NE; Plaistow, NH; Albuquerque, NM; Rome, NY; Tifin, OH; Bartlesville, OK; Myrtle Beach, SC; McAllen and Waco, TX; Brattleboro, VT and Basel, Switzerland --- I hope that the weather allowed you to do your thing during your sessions.
In a few hours now, it'll be the Kennedy Center's turn to host a TubaChristmas event. The setting is the Grand Foyer of the Millennium Stage; conducting this rather silly evening will be Colonel Bryan Shelburne, Commander, U.S. Army Band (Retired). [Why, there'll even be a live webcast of the thing, as well!]
I only hope it'll be a nice night!
