The prodigal son returns!
One of the true icons of television, Jeff Margolis, has been chosen to executive producer the Oscar Night pre-show, produced and sanctioned by the Academy, of course.
Jeff has spent over 30 years shaping the face of the television special, having supervised over 100 major events: the Miss America Pageant, the American Music Awards, the Academy of Country Music Awards, the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and such specials as Motown 45, A Musical Christmas @ Walt Disney World, CBS: 50 Years from Television City, Sammy Davis, Jr.'s 60th Anniversary Celebration --- and lots, lots more! Jeff is a multiple Emmy and DGA Award winner who occasionally makes cameo appearances as himself in all his shows.
And Jeff is no stranger to Oscar, having directed several of the big shows, as well as produced and directed the VHS package Oscar's Greatest Moments. A thrill it is seeing this television legend get back into the game where he belongs. Be a dear, won't you, Mortals of the Academy, and let him direct next year's telecast, hmmmm?
