A rather slow weekend --- and Three Kings' Day, too!
As I told you on the parent Dark Chambers website, our Royals of the Week for this week are the Three Kings! Oh, yes, Los Tres Reyes Magos --- Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar. The boys have had a great many adventures in their many journeys across the cosmos; and right now, the Royal Trio are giving their friends at El Museo del Barrio treasures and memories both untold and unnumbered, during this, the 30th Anniversary Three Kings' Day @ El Museo Parade, co-sponsored by the Public Relations and Educational Departments of The New York Times.
Given that this is also a rather slow weekend as well, even for a Friday, your humble Dragonmaster figured, there had to be a more exciting way to chill out over this wonderful Friday weekend --- the first such weekend of 2007, Mortal-reckoning! And besides, I've never before experienced a Three Kings' Day event in person; hopefully, later this afternoon, I shall have the chance to do so. You see, each year the Society for the Educational Arts, Inc., a bilingual arts-in-education organization and Latino Children's theatre company, teams up with Macy*s Herald Square to stage a two-hour meet-n'-greet session with the Three Kings!
Believe me, Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar have been everywhere today --- and they'll be everywhere tomorrow, too, as SEA Headquarters will present another meet-n'-greet session with the Royal Trio, which promises to be even more exciting! And of course, as the photo in this week's Royals of the Week segment will show you, they even find time to gain pointers on making it in New York from an expert ---- in this particular case, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz! (Heh-heh!)
[Oh yeah, did I mention that the Three Kings even starred in their very own feature-length animated movie three years ago?]
These lads are what's happening this weekend, dear goodly gentles. So, if you find things boring today, as I do right now, go check out Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar. They have quite a lot to say to their legions of loyal subjects, and I'm sure this ol' Wizardly bag o' bones would be more than ready to hear their words!
As ever,
Master Blackwolf
