A Moment of Mardi Gras Merriment!

When Times-Picayune staff photographer Kathy Anderson was dispatch'd to New Orleans' venerable Laborer's Union Hall, she wasn't expecting much from the Petronians' 48th Annual Royal Mardi Gras Ball. But this particular Mardi Gras Krewe, founded in 1961, wanted Kathy to have a jolly time doing her picture taking. And I, frankly, don't think they came any jollier than 2009 King Petronius himself, His Majesty, King Arthur Alarcon! Discover ye now the results for thyselves, dearests!

Blackwolf @ the Oscars 2009: Magecraft vs. the End of the World!

Ours, I fear, is an age of liars. There, I said it.

Lately, it's gotten to a point where none of us have the decency to tell the truth anymore. Everyone, from politics to sports and everywhere else in between, is lying to you, no matter who you are or where you go. Which I why I have a sense that this Sunday evening's 81st Annual Academy Awards is desting to be the depressing adventure it may yet become! Thank you sooo much, ABC! Methinks we're in for the feel-bad event of the month!

Even I, a mere Mage, wonder if this Planet hath the collective balls, let alone the decency, to tell the truth. I was going to have no less than Baron Munchhausen himself, that liar par excellence, guest-blog here today to teach you Mortals a lesson or two about truth-telling. But I, for one, doubt that you lot will bloomin' trust me. Oh, well.

We'll find out how depressing the Oscars will be on Sunday. Check back here with me next Tuesday, as I blog to you how aaaaaaah!-ish the evening became. See ya then!
