Some Sensible Thoughts at the Dawn of a Decade
Friday, January 1st, 2010, Mortal-reckoning. Interesting, huh? Well, perhaps if one is not too enamored by things like this, one should, I suspect, have cause to enjoy the promise held by this New Year. So we shall begin with a re-introduction of myself, in case there be some of ye good Mortals without a clue regarding the oddly dressed person speaking to you at this very moment.
Know, then, that I am Blackwolf the Dragonmaster, Duke and First Marquess of the Region of Talisker, Philosopher of the Internet, Lord High Mage of the Hard Drive, Champion and Conqueror of Thaumaturgic Technology, and Unofficial Wizard and Sorcerer-in-Residence unto the Mortalfolk of the City, County and State of New York. In essentia, my mission is to restore imagination, creativity and chivalry to a Planet sadly lacking in all of the above. Currently, besides battling the forces of Nastiness, I often go to bat for those projects that, for some strange reason, don't necessarily have a chance. So, as we begin our New Year, let me introduce you to one of those projects: "Blackbeard: The Musical," book, music and lyrics by Rob Gardner. As you read this, Rob is questing to bring this swashbuckling Pirate musical to Broadway. And yes, it is exactly what you think it is; and accordingly, I have alerted most of my friends in the Pirate Community, particularly those at No Quarter Given and Pirates Magazine. And ye may rest assured I've alerted the Founding Buccaneers of International Talk Like a Pirate Day, too! Anybody with a Piratical pedigree deserves to know about this musical. Please support it as best you can, my friends.
Well, I'm done blogging in here for now. Got to go see what the expletive deleted Rose Parade twits are up to.
