On Being Forced 2 Do Things
One of the things I dislike more than anything is having to make Hobson's choices on the spur of a split-second moment. In my early days, when I was merely Padraig of Abbeyleix, my father, Saemus the Strong, first taught me that poeple will, by and large, do anything they desire to humiliate, insult, and otherwise force your humble Dragonmaster into that most odious of behaviours. You've seen it happen to me more than a few times, even in some of my personal appearances. I call it Mage rage.
Car drivers have road rage. Wizards have Mage rage. Discuss.
Anywho, I am being made to ensconse me Wizardly person in the ol' hovel, so that the twits responsible for the upkeep of me place can abide by the regulations of HUD. I would link to hud.gov, but after frequent exposure to the Mark Levin radio program, I don't think I can say it any other way than by expressing that I may be losing faith in the way America's government works. Wizards may know how to do the right thing, I'm sure; but, how many times can one endure radio and television soundbites without being completely cynical about it all?
Anyway, getting back to Mage rage, I have had to rant a few times about what Mage rage does to a sorcerer like me. It ain't pretty. For further evidence, I call your attention to the "First 10ths of a Second" sequence featuring Jack Webb as Sgt. Joe Friday. It's worth exploring --- and it's quite serious, too. Pray, check it out.
