The Coolest Coronation Ever....

Ever since last August 1st, the world has been abuzz about King George Tupou V of Tonga's Coronation. Indeed, there are those for whom it was nothing less than the coolest Coronation ever. No matter that it only took an hour, and was mostly spoken in the Tongan tongue. You need only Google the imagery, or visit YouTube and type in king george tupou coronation, and, well .... you can pretty much figure the rest out for yourselves, Mortals!

But take not your Dragonmaster's word for it, dearests! Have a look here!

Why did you light up my life, anyway?

He only made two feature films, You Light Up My Life and If Ever I See You Again, serving as writer-producer-director-composer-arranger-conductor on both; and then, only three short years ago, desperate to make a comeback, he took his writing-producing-directing duties to the legitimate stage, the result being a bizarre, twisted autobiographical musical entitled In my Life. Now, comes word that 71-year-old Joseph Brooks has been indicted on charges that he dared rape no fewer than 11 young women that he had lured to his Manhattan apartment using advertisements he'd posted on Craigslist!

These assaults, the Associated Press is reporting, occured between 2005 and 2008, the period when he was putting the aforenoted stage production together --- and many of the naive young ladies were as young as 18, according to proseecutors.

There is, as I have long warned a good many of mine own loyal fans, a dark side to this business known as show. I have succeeded --- thus far --- for the simple reason that respect for other Humans (and, for that matter, respect for all beings) means far more to me than all the other things one would associate with entertainment. Chivalry above all else has long been, and will continue to be, your humble Dragonmaster's #1 priority and stock in trade; were it not thus, the High Istari would not have brought me into New York. If you will recall previously in this blog, I declared that the early 21st Century, Mortal-reckoning, has become an age of liars.

Hard to believe, say you? Well, I would suggest that you keep one eye on the local newspapers, or, failing that, simply listen to your favorite knights of the realm called talk radio or just log on to the news websites of your preference, and I think you'll figure out just how close we are to telling at least one truth --- a truth best summed up by the title song from It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World:

In France, the girls wear scanties on a lambchop laced with panties.
I'm telling you, it's a mad, mad, mad, mad world!
A Japanese named Louie said the Chinese eat chop suey ---
Good Lord, good Lord! It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world!
The only thing you are sure of is that nothing is sure.
Have a ball! Live it up! Only fools give it up;
Toujours, mes amours; les toujours!
So be a happy gaffer; be a screamer; be a laugher!
Have fun today and say What the hey:
It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world!
