Hi there, Mortals! Father Time here, and as you can tell, everyone's in a tizzy about how to welcome in 2010! As for me, I would just watch the movie!
Oh, you didn't know there was a movie called 2010? Well, apparently you weren't paying attention --- becuase it came out in 1984! It was the sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey, in which a joint U.S.-Russian expedition blasts off to Jupiter to find out what happened aboard the U.S.S. Discovery --- and especially to determine the meaning of the large black monolith orbiting Jupiter, as well as what became of the HAL 9000, the vessel's sentient computer.
If you visit IMDB now, you'll be able to read a heated debate on the artistic merit of the project. Frankly, I think those reviews are interesting to read!
As far as New Year's Eve goes, though: someone please tell Dick Clark to pack it in. The reason he hired Seacrest in the first place is so Ryan could take over in case Clark couldn't make it. Well, the Bandstand man's getting way long in the tooth, so.....
