From His Oceanic Majesty, King Neptune:
Greetings, Surface-dwellers! King Neptune here! Feast your eyes on this, won't you:
This is from September 15th, 1965, when I bestowed this honor upon one Stephen Swayne, from Woodside, Adelaide, South Australia. In those days, I had the pleasure of greeting my subjects in partnership with the folks at Qantas; at that time, I wasn't as jolly in those days as I am now.
But, truth be told, given what I've had to listen to after all this silliness about BP screwing up my Oceanic Kingdom, it's a wonder I don't start taking my trusty trident and poking the daylights out of those dimwit Humans responsible for all this nonsense! Fortunately, I always count on ol' Blackwolf the Dragonmaster to give me a laugh or two; and, in return, the old Mage allows me on occasion, as he has done today, to let me guest-blog here in the Diary of Magecraft, so that I can teach you Surface-dwellers a lesson or two about respecting your oceans!
In New York City, where Master Blackwolf has his headquarters --- OK, I won't beat about the bush! I had lots of fun at this year's 28th Annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade! I don't know who had more fun than me: Dick Zigun and the old folks, or those who were in on all the silliness, ribaldry and political ranting! Anyway, be a dear and check out Flickr.com, because they obviously have tons of Mermaid Parade photos!
Until next time, dear Friends of the Sea!
Humbly yours,
King Neptune
